The Sorbara's main purpose and drive behind the renovation of their old farmhouse in Northport was to create a place where the family could come together under one roof. Having a large family and no room to put everyone when they all came together over the holidays was posing a huge problem.  So the Sorbara's collectively came together to create a space big enough to accommodate the entire family.

These accommodations include a silo that was made into a building that houses three bedrooms and a bathroom.  Each room has its own great views of the property and the neighboring farmhouse.  The design concept for the silo allowed each room to keep its "silo shape" meaning that each of the bedrooms were round and maintained their curved walls.   The barn attaches to the silo with a bright staircase that leads each guest to and from their round rooms.  The barn was completely re-done from top to bottom. 

The Sorbara's really enjoy that old country look and really wanted their farmhouse and barn to maintain a lot of the old form and presence of the past.
